I was expecting more heat then what it is giving out.If it wasn't for the flame view it would be sent back.

Beautiful piece, realistic flames

I ordered this fireplace as a heater for my massage office and to add to the ambiance. I am so happy I did. It is really beautiful, warms the room up nicely and is surprisingly realistic. I have only had it a couple days so I can't speak to the longevity. The only thing is I wish it made the crackling sound of a fire, but what I did was put a couple crackling candles (by woodwick) on top, which make the sound and give the illusion that the sound is coming from the fireplace. The fan is pretty quiet and you can adjust the height and brightness of the "flames."
