Compact little heater
By Douglas T. Martin
We fired it off last night for the first time. It runs great and the fan isn't all that loud. The only problem I have with it is that it short cycles a lot when it reaches the temperature its set for. When it does reach the set point, it cycles on for about 10 seconds, off for a few minutes, then back on again, on and on. Very annoying.
If I decide to buy another small heater, I think I would chose a different one for sure.

Made in Canada
By R. Ocampo
For Canadians, it would be nice to support the Canadian economy and actually find a product that's made within the country. I found this Seabreeze product which is a little bit pricey for what it is.

The one I purchased is the SF8T model. The product is a hit and miss:

HIT...
1. Very slim and compact. I can put it on a coffee table top and isolate the heat towards me without having to turn on the whole house heating system thereby avoiding more expensive heating bills.
2. Retro-looking unit. Might be a turn-off to others.
3. Selectable power for more energy savings from a low 1,000W to a high 1,500W.
4. Simple controls that are easy to use ones you get the hang of it.
5. Heat-free, light outer polymer material that you can touch without fear of getting burned from a hot surface or static when touching a metal enclosure in a dry air environment.
6. A small handle at the back to help you carry and move the product around where needed.
7. Variable heat temperature with a fan that automatically spins on and off depending on the desired temperature.

MISS...
1. Poor manufacturing construction quality. I opened a few boxes that was shipped in two retail stores and the quality of the product varied. There are a couple of products with scratches and others with deformed polymer from the poor manufacturing process.
2. The small fan in my first unit was whisper quiet. I returned due to a deformed outer casing. The second unit has a noisy fan which sounds like it's not perfectly balanced on it's axis when spinning.
3. Although I like the retro look, I have to wonder why it can't be improved upon or refined better. The front controls look like a high school project from generic parts bin electronics store.

FINAL THOUGHTS...
It's hard to take this product seriously when you can find solid construction and good quality heaters made in China for half the price. I like the look of this retro heater that is a statement in itself. If they can take their manufacturing process seriously, they can broaden the appeal of their heaters to outside patrons apart from their very own Canadian people.
