Perfect but take this advice!
By Todd Doolittle
I was skeptical because this motor was significantly cheaper than I found it anywhere else. It showed up and was the genuine part. Shipping was very fast.

Here's the advice part. The blower wheel can be EXTREMELY difficult to get off the motor without destroying it. I turned a couple of allen wrenches into pretzels. I even soaked the allen set screw in break-free penetrating oil and when that didn't work heated it up until it was cherry red with a with a torch.

I talked to a friend and he said on a 10+ year old furnace you'll never get it off without damaging it. Even if you could it just takes way too long and is way too much effort. At very least also buy the blower wheel. Then just cut the old motor shaft with a hack saw just behind the blower wheel. This will save you a ton of time, effort and aggravation. Trust me, the $13 blower wheel is well worth the price.

My gaskets literally disintegrated when I pulled the motor. So I'd also recommend getting a gasket kit as well. I don't see those here on Amazon so you might have to go directly to a HVAC site like Shorty's to get those.

Luckily I did mine in the summer so it's not a big deal for me to wait a few days for the blower wheel and gaskets to show up.

If you follow my tips of having all the parts on hand and cutting the blower wheel off this is a very simply repair that anyone can do. It will probably save you at least $500 over having a HVAC service do it.

Easy replacement and save $400 but
By Robert LeVan
The moter is perfect and easy to install. The blower squirel cage was difficult to remove so wear gloves and keep at it. The old unit came off without damaging the gaskets so I did not replace them. Unfortunately this is the second time this motor has shot crapes on this furance. The orginal equipment lasted 12 years, the second motor lasted two years. Hope this one goes the distance for me. Furance repair wanted $580 plus a service call, yikes! I may not be handsome but I am handy.

Carrier Inducer Motor
By R. Larsen
The inducer motor works great and is quieter than the old one. Installing it may take a bit of critical thinking but after you figure it out it is easy. I am not a furnace repair technician and I figured it out. I was quoted $400-600 for this to be done by a heating repair company. I bought the part and installed it myself and the only cost was for the part, about $90.
